This currency represents the WW2 clash of 2 Great Colonial Powers, Imperial Japan and the Netherlands, over the East Indies which comprised what is today Indonesia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Bali and Timor!! Japan overran the Dutch Colony of the East Indies in less than 3 months in early 1942 and held them until 1945! These notes were printed in and issued by Imperial Japan circa 1942 but are printed entirely in Dutch and denominated in Dutch Gulden (Guilder)! You will receive one of each denomination, each beautifully engraved with tropical themes in a style similar to prior Dutch-printed East Indies currency.

The 3 notes are barely circulated with no more than 2-3 light folds. They all remain crisp and generally very clean but may have an occasional trace of very minor soiling or toning in the margin, which does not distract from the overall beauty of the note. This currency is gaining in popularity and demand and is a sure candidate for future appreciation as you enjoy its incredible wartime history!
